Zydeco Nation Black History Month Special on Tabasco Road, Sun. Feb. 12th @6pm

Tune in to KXCI on Sunday, February 12th from 6 to 8 pm for a very special Tabasco Road show. From 6 to 7 pm, KXCI and Tabasco Road will air a radio documentary celebrating the Zydeco Nation and Black History Month. This one-hour special produced by Richard Ziglar and Barry Yeoman tells the story of the great migration of French-speaking Louisiana Creoles who moved across the country in search of a better life; a movement that brought the Creole culture, food and music to Northern California.

This documentary features stories and songs by musicians Queen Ida Guillory, Andre Thierry, Andrew Carriere, Mark St. Mark, R.C. Carrier, and Wilbert Lewis, along with interviews with Zydeco dancers Ray Stevens, Lena Pitre, Warren Semien and many others.

And after the documentary, the festivities will continue until 8 pm with the Desert Duke hosting a Zydeco Fais Do-Do in our little studios in the Arizona Bayou; a party "GAWR-ON-TEED" to have you dancin' up a storm to the best Zydeco music around, be it from the California, Louisiana or worldwide bayous!
