KXCI Presents! Spiritualized with Nikki Lane and Great Lake Swimmers with Cold Specks

Spiritualized performs at The Rialto Theatre this Friday, May 18th in a KXCI Presents! show. British space rockers Spiritualized come to Tucson on a rare North American tour. Drawing on influences like the Velvet Underground and Brian Wilson, Spiritualized combines hypnotic minimalism with lush, panoramic symphonies. Doors open at 7pm with indie alt-country chanteuse Nikki Lane.
Tune in for a live performance at 5:30pm from Nikki Lane, Friday on The Home Stretch.

Great Lake Swimmers play Club Congress Sunday night, May 20th in an early and all-ages KXCI Presents! show. Canada’s Great Lake Swimmers create thoughtful indie-folk rock. New Wild Everywhere is the follow-up to Great Lake Swimmers’ critically acclaimed, Polaris Music Prize shortlisted and Juno nominated 2009 album Lost Channels. Doors open at 7pm with the arresting old-soul voice of Cold Specks. Cold Specks is 23-year-old Al Spx from Etobicoke, Canada, who now lives in London. Describing her sound as ‘Doom Soul’, Cold Specks’ music is steeped in the musical traditions of the Deep South.
