Giant Giant Sand on Locals Only

Tune in Monday night, July 30th, at 9pm for a special in-studio performance with Giant Giant Sand on Locals Only.

Just when you thought Giant Sand couldn't get any bigger, Howe Gelb has done just that by regrouping, expanding and magnifying his vision with the newest version of Giant Sand, calling it (appropriately enough) GIANT GIANT SAND. They'll be playing cuts from their new album Tucson, released last month on Fire Records.

My Jerusalem in Studio 2A Tuesday at 4:30pm on The Home Stretch

Tune in for a live Studio 2A performance from My Jerusalem this Tuesday, July 10th at 4:30pm on The Home Stretch.
My Jerusalem are playing Tuesday night at Plush with HAIRSPRAYFIREANDGIRLS.
My Jerusalem is led by songwriter Jeff Klein who, after years of going it alone with critically acclaimed solo albums, working with fellow tarnished souls like Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan and dispensing sobering observations in his smoke-curled voice, has assembled a choir of similarly ragged angels for My Jerusalem’s debut, Gone For Good. Bassist and vocalist Ashley Dzerigian (formerly of Great Northern) provides the tender counterpoint with the burnished brass of trumpet player Matt Bricker (The Polyphonic Spree) and trombonist Jon Merz, and keyboardist Evan Jacobs layers in the atmospheres and tugs at the heartstrings while drummer Kevin Bybee keeps the rolling, rhythmic pulse. Indeed, it’s probably way too many people to make a sound this lonesome.

King Tuff - Studio 2A Friday 7/6, 5:30pm on The Home Stretch

**IN_STUDIO CANCELLED, STILL AT PLUSH TONIGHT**

King Tuff live in KXCI's Studio 2A on The Home Stretch at 5:30pm Friday, July 6th.
King Tuff's new Sub Pop release overflows with trippy garage rock. Teenage stoner angst music with humorous, self indulgent lyrics set in short psychedelic songs. This tongue in cheek rock n' roll also has some sensitive moments. It's rough around the edges with distorted guitar licks and trashy drums yet the dark lyrics have poppy vocals and a sunny overall feeling. This is live, rough and ready, no protools pop production here.
King Tuff plays Plush Friday night with The Electric Blankets and The Resonars, doors at 9pm.
